Finland lists January 7–21, 2027 for many autumn programmes. Check separate application routes, the €100 fee guidance and a practical shortlist plan.

Updated coverage — 22 October 2026: Finland 2027 Rolling Admissions: Build Your Application Calendar Before October 30. Read the newer coverage alongside the original report below.

Application planning check: 20 October 2026

The official source remains the Study in Finland article updated October 14. Its January joint-application window does not cover every programme. Build a separate row for each course, recording its route, eligibility, document requirements, language evidence and actual deadline.

For detailed preparation, read the English-test acceptance guide and the statement-of-purpose planning guide. Confirm final requirements with the university instead of applying another institution’s policy to your shortlist.

Published: 13 October 2026. Updated: 14 October. Checked: 15 October. Study in Finland's new admissions guidance identifies 7–21 January 2027 as the joint application period for many degree programmes starting in September 2027.

The official autumn 2027 preparation update also explains that some universities use separate or rolling applications, which may open in late 2026. January 21 should therefore not be treated as the deadline for every Finnish programme.

Check the route for each shortlisted course

Record the exact programme, institution, intake and application method. Check its admission requirements, document dates and selection process before deciding which options belong on your list.

The update directs applicants to Studyinfo.fi for programme details and online applications. It says applicants from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland generally need to pay a €100 application fee. Check whether the fee rules apply to your circumstances; this is not a tuition quote.

Useful preparation before applications open

  • Match course prerequisites to your current qualification.
  • Check the programme's accepted language evidence.
  • Collect the required academic records.
  • Separate application charges, tuition and living costs in your budget.
  • Check whether scholarships require another application.

A course that fits your interests still needs to fit your academic profile and finances. Keep possible funding conditional until an award is confirmed.

Compare institutions before choosing

Universities and universities of applied sciences offer different learning approaches. Read our Finland university-versus-UAS guide to compare programmes at the right level, and use the study-abroad planning guide to organise documents and costs.

Frequently asked questions

Does the €100 charge cover tuition?

No. It is application-fee guidance. University tuition and living costs are separate.

Does submitting a form secure a place?
