Official notice date: 10 October 2026. Editorial check: 13 October 2026. MCC has asked state counselling authorities to exclude candidates joined through All India Quota up to Round 3 before processing state Round 3 seats.
MCC Notice No. 25 says Round 3 reporting ended on 9 October 2026. It directs states to obtain joined-candidate information through MCC's data-sharing portal so candidates holding an AIQ seat are not allotted a state seat through that processing.
Why this matters to students
A candidate's actual joining status matters, not only whether another counselling account can be opened. Students already admitted should not assume they can pursue another seat without checking the relevant rules.
The notice is addressed to candidates and state authorities. It does not provide a general new resignation window, a universal refund promise or automatic permission to change colleges.
Keep a clear record of your current status
- Check your official allotment, reporting and admission acknowledgements.
- Distinguish an allotment you received from a seat you formally joined.
- Read the latest notice for each counselling route you are considering.
- Raise a discrepancy with the relevant authority through its official support channel.
If a portal status appears inconsistent with your records, describe the specific discrepancy and keep evidence of your query. Do not rely on a forwarded list or another applicant's account screenshot to establish your eligibility.
Do not make a seat decision from one notice alone
Before attempting a withdrawal, another application or a payment, check the current round-specific instructions. A counselling notice explains an administrative rule; it cannot decide how an individual's full history fits every admission process.
