Advisory date: 13 October 2026. Checked: 15 October 2026. MCC has rejected a circulated notice claiming a percentile reduction for NEET UG Counselling 2026. Its advisory states that no such decision has been taken by the competent authority and that the circulated notice is fake.
The official MCC advisory also warns candidates about fake websites and agents. It identifies mcc.nic.in as MCC's website and asks for fraudulent cases to be reported to MCC.
Do not change your admission plan from a forwarded image
A document can look official without being authentic. Before assuming that your eligibility has changed, find the announcement through the authority's own website and read the complete instructions.
Do not pay, withdraw a choice or share private application records because someone promises access under an unverified relaxation. A genuine change should be traceable to the relevant authority.
A quick verification routine
- Identify the exact examination, admission year and counselling authority.
- Look for the document in that authority's current notices.
- Compare the date, subject and operative instructions.
- Ask the official support channel if the claimed change cannot be found.
Keep your application actions separate from the rumour. Continue following the rules that are actually published for your round and status.
Support your family with a clear explanation
If a forwarded notice has created confusion, explain what the official advisory says rather than circulating the fake document again. The important point is the verified position, not the appearance of a letterhead.

Frequently asked questions
Has MCC confirmed the claimed reduction?
No. The reviewed October 13 advisory explicitly rejects that claim.
Does an unofficial website establish my eligibility?
