What students and families need to know.

MCC lists final PG seat matrices for AIQ, DNB, deemed and central internal quota routes. Learn what to check before entering counselling preferences.

Official listing checked: 20 October 2026. A separate publication date is not shown on the listing.

MCC's PG counselling page lists separate final matrices for All India Quota MD/MS, DNB, deemed-university MD/MS and central internal-quota MD/MS seats. Candidates should open the document relevant to each intended option rather than treating every published seat as equally available to them.

Where to find the matrices

The documents are linked under Current Events on the official MCC PG page. The same page asks participating institutions to verify their matrix and report discrepancies before completion of Round 1 choice filling.

FieldWhy it matters
InstitutionConfirm the exact college or hospital, not just a familiar abbreviated name.
CourseMatch the qualification and specialty you intend to pursue.
Quota and categoryCheck the conditions that make the option applicable to your candidature.
Seats and amendmentsUse the latest relevant document and check for later additions or withdrawals.

A matrix describes listed seats. It does not establish your eligibility, predict an allotment or guarantee that a particular option will remain available throughout processing.

Build a usable preference worksheet

Create one row for each genuine option and record the matrix source, course, quota, published fees and questions requiring clarification. Keep separate rows where the same institution appears through different routes.

Do not combine unlike seats into an informal total and use it as an admission prediction. Your choices must make sense for your rank, eligibility and priorities under the applicable process.

Connect the matrix with the action schedule

Our Round 1 choice-filling update covers the current timetable and resumed-choice message. Review the fee comparison checklist before including options with costs you have not verified.

When a detail appears inconsistent, use the official clarification route. Avoid relying on an agent's assurance that a quota condition or fee can be changed after allotment.

Frequently asked questions

Does “final matrix” mean final allotment?

No. A seat matrix and an allotment result are different documents.

Can I select any listed seat?

Check the eligibility and quota rules applicable to your candidature.

Should I keep checking after downloading the matrix?

Yes. Watch for later official amendments while the relevant counselling process continues.
